It takes real guts to stand on moral principle on foundational human rights. But standing is only part of the process. Those who often take those stands face the all too predictable backlash, often for a lifetime by those without that backbone and clear vision, or who target a person to for their stalwart integrity, moral consistency, and intestinal fortitude. It isn’t simply taking a stand but taking a stand in defense of those struggling for their basic rights over the dictates of power, politics or a narrowly focused religious interpretation.
There are all too few of these principled people, people like Tristan Meinecke and Angel Casey. Tristan Meinecke was a prolific 20th century Chicago Artist, his wife, Angel Casey, an early television pioneer, was both muse and principled partner whose reputations suffered in their stance for civil rights.
Tristan and Angel’s eldest son, Brad Meineke is on a mission to maintain their legacy and work… For More on Tristan Meinecke and Angel Casey visit tmeinecke.com, and angelcasey.com.

Few bands in history have proved as prolific and influential as Savoy Brown piloted by the late singer/songwriter and prolific guitar player Kim Simmonds. Savoy Brown launched innumerable careers, from Foghat’s Lonesome Dave Peverett to Bill Bruford who went on to form Yes. Many others joined the band over almost 6 decades. Always there was Kim Simmonds and that indefatigable guitar. But if you thought the loss of Simmonds was the end for the band, as well as for Simmonds, guess again. As Neil Young once said, Rock and Roll will never dies, and the great Blues guitarist, Buddy Guy once said Blues musicians don’t retire, they drop.
Garnet Grimm has been the drummer for Savoy Brown since 2009, appearing on nearly 1/3 of Savoy Brown's, get this, 45 albums. Work which includes some of the bands most underrated albums and arguably some of the band’s very best work.
