There are many Pink Floyd tribute bands, but only one that had the honor of performing at Floyd bassist David Gilmour’s 50th birthday party. And only one that doesn’t simply sell out shows but whole tours, and I might add only one who has incredible voice of Lorelei McBroom, who also performed with the original Pink Floyd. Keeping the dreamscape alive, the critically acclaimed Australian Pink Floyd Show is on an international tour. Guitarist David Fowler talks about the massive undertaking of bringing the show to the stage.

Dan Davies and I discuss my new manuscript, The Assassination of Baby Hitler: A Love Story, which if you are a science geek like Dan and I and love classic rock and roll, I think you will love this conversation. We have had some amazing conversations that weren’t recorded! We are not making that mistake again.
Dan Davies wrote, co-produced and starred in the brilliant 2010 cult film Ed Gein, The Musical, a comedic musical film about the grave robbing serial killer Ed Gein. Mr. Davies is also the publisher of Renegade press LLC, renegadepresspublisher.com in Appleton Wisconsin. His 5th Annual NIFA Awards show debuts Sept 23rd. Visit nifa-awards.org.
Dan Davies and Donna Francart on Coast to Coast AM September 9th, 2023
As for the book… Darby just met Greta, the girl of his dreams. There’s just a slight difference in age. She’s 130 years older than he is! When a community college physics professor is thrust back in time to 1891 Bavaria he must find a way back to his own time or forever being trapped in a past he little understands. When a Time Augur accuses Darby of time travelling to murder baby Hitler, the dictator in diapers, the pooping potentate, Swadling Swabian??? He and a one-handed Komisar chase Darby with Greta across Bavaria to the little town where baby Hitler sleeps. Will they change history? Will the lovers Greta and Darby ever be together again? Can the ne’er-do-wells of time battle the Augur and help get Darby back to his own time?

Rarely a work of theater causes us to think about those deeper narratives guiding our lives. Ronnie Marmo’s riveting performance in “I’m Not A Comedian… I’m Lenny Bruce”, serves as shining guidepost. Marmo also wrote an exemplary one-man show, which was directed by the co-collaborator Joe Mantegna. Marmo is an award-winning actor.

The first thing you’ll notice on the new EP, “A Problematic Opera” from The Artist- Formally- (get it???)- Formally Known As Vince is energy, followed closely by harmony.  Take a closer look at the band’s namesake, Vince SanFilippo and one can track the evolution of this Chicago native’s exemplary grasp of melodic structure. There are elements here of many of punk’s greats, The Buzzcocks, Girlschool, Runaways, Chicago’s own Eleventh Dream Day, and the East coast’s Tiny Lights…
Together with post punk accompanying vocals from longtime collaborator Lauren Kurtz and a killer band, TAFKAVince is a force to be reckoned in Chicago’s music scene.

Playtime podcast, you will recall several episodes dedicated to updates following my stroke, a year ago in May.
I knew enough about strokes to understand the challenges in diverting and retraining the right side of my body. I also knew the immensity of the challenge I faced, not knowing those first days if I would walk or drive a car again. Even more, I had been an artist my whole life, I did not know if I would ever pick up a paintbrush or pencil ever again. I was confronted by the deepest depression, but realizing the definition of depression is the inability to see opportunities I was determined to seek out solutions.
The road to discovery, both within and without, and to healing starts with a single step. That first step, I know, may be monumental but will pay dividends in the end.
Walking is indeed winning.
