The Artist Formally Known As Vince: The Glam Side of Punk

The first thing you’ll notice on the new EP, “A Problematic Opera” from The Artist- Formally- (get it???)- Formally Known As Vince is energy, followed closely by harmony.  Take a closer look at the band’s namesake, Vince SanFilippo and one can track the evolution of this Chicago native’s exemplary grasp of melodic structure. There are elements here of many of punk’s greats, The Buzzcocks, Girlschool, Runaways, Chicago’s own Eleventh Dream Day, and the East coast’s Tiny Lights…

Together with post punk accompanying vocals from longtime collaborator Lauren Kurtz and a killer band, TAFKAVince is a force to be reckoned in Chicago’s music scene.
